US-Canada-Mexico candidacy for 2026 Cup is possible, says leader
Football officials from the United States, Canada and Mexico are due to meet next year to discuss the possibility of a joint bid to host the 2026 World Cup, CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani said on Wednesday.
Fifa confirmed in October that it will accept joint candidacies for the 2026 tournament, without any restriction on the number of countries in the same proposal.
"It's obviously a possibility," Montagliani told Reuters on the sidelines of a sports conference in Dubai. "We are fully aware that each country could probably organize on its own."
CONCACAF is the body responsible for football in North and Central America and the Caribbean.
In the event of a victory, it would be the first time the World Cup has been held in a Concacaf country since the 1994 World Cup in the United States, and the first in more than one country since the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea .
"It's time to go back," said Montagliani, adding that Concacaf "absolutely" expects the 2026 tournament to be hosted by one of its 41 members.

Dorival pede Clayton e Santos inicia conversas com o Atlético-MG
O Santos colocou mais um atacante de velocidade no radar. O UOL Esporteapurou que o técnico Dorival Júnior pediu a contratação do atacante Clayton, do Atlético-MG. Por conta disso, a diretoria santista iniciou conversas com os dirigentes do Galo. A proposta oficial ainda não foi realizada.
Apesar do desejo de Dorival Júnior, a diretoria do Santos já avisou que não fará loucuras por Clayton. Inicialmente, a ideia era contratar o jogador por empréstimo, mas o Atlético-MG só tem interesse em negociar o atleta em definitivo.
Se com Leandro Donizete bastou o Santos oferecer um bom salário para tirar o volante do Atlético, com Clayton a situação é bem mais complicada. O jogador de 21 anos chegou à Cidade do Galo em fevereiro e foi o maior investimento do clube para 2016. Contratado após aparecer bem no Figueirense, Clayton custou R$ 13 milhões para o Atlético.
Apesar do esforço feito para contar com o atacante, Clayton não foi muito bem na primeira temporada em Minas Gerais. Foram 46 jogos e somente sete gols. O jogador oscilou bastante entre bons e maus momentos e não terminou o ano como titular do Atlético.
Mesmo assim, uma negociação por empréstimo não interessa à diretoria alvinegra, especialmente por se tratar de um rival na Copa Libertadores. Para liberar Clayton, o Atlético quer pelo menos recuperar o valor que investiu no atleta.
Clayton é um sonho antigo do Santos. Antes de acertar com o Atlético-MG, o atacante esteve na mira do clube paulista, mas não houve acerto financeiro com o Figueirense. Na ocasião, o atleta já havia sido indicado por Dorival Júnior.
Até o momento, o Santos fechou a contratação de quatro jogadores para a temporada 2017. Além de Leandro Donizete, o clube paulista acertou com o zagueiro Cleber, ex-Corinthians e que estava no Hamburgo, da Alemanha, o lateral ambidestro Matheus Ribeiro, do Atlético-GO, e o atacante Vladimir Hernandez, do Junior Barranquilla, da Colômbia.

Campeão mundial pelo Inter, Fabiano Eller decide se aposentar do futebol
Zagueiro, que jogou no Vasco, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, Santos e Atlético de Madrid, entre outros clubes, estava no Joinville e disputou a Série B deste ano
Após 20 anos de serviços prestados ao futebol profissional, chega a hora do zagueiro capixaba Fabiano Eller "pendurar as chuteiras". O defensor, que foi campeão mundial pelo Inter em 2006, e bicampeão brasileiro pelo Vasco, confirmou que encerrou a sua carreira em entrevista à TV Gazeta Norte, durante uma visita que fez à sua cidade natal, o município de Linhares, no Espírito Santo.
O agora ex-jogador participou da festa de encerramento do ano da escolinha da Academia Capixaba de Futebol, do distrito de Bebedouro. Enquanto tirava fotos com pequenos jogadores, Fabiano Eller revelou que deve assumir outras funções ligadas ao futebol no futuro, pra não sofrer tanto com a ausência recente dos gramados.
- Tive uma carreira vitoriosa, graças a Deus, joguei em muitos clubes aqui no Brasil e fora do país também. Se não me engano foram 16 clubes, e assim, realmente vai ser uma tristeza, nos primeiros meses eu vou sentir bastante, mas é normal, né? É uma profissão que eu fiz a minha vida toda, mas daqui a pouco eu vou engrenar em alguma outra coisa e de repente trabalhar com o futebol também, pra não sentir tanto - afirmou.
O zagueiro Fabiano Eller chega aos 39 anos tendo passado por 16 clubes profissionais. Revelado pelo Linhares, começou a carreira no Vasco da Gama, em 1996, começando como lateral-esquerdo e depois atuando como volante, onde ficou até 2002, tendo no currículo as conquistas de dois Campeonatos Brasileiros (1997 e 2000), além de uma Taça Libertadores da América (1998). Após passagem pelo Palmeiras, se destacou no Flamengo, onde foi campeão carioca em 2004 já atuando como zagueiro.
A segunda passagem de Fabiano Eller pelo Internacional foi mais curta (pouco mais de um ano), mas também seguiu sendo vitoriosa, com mais uma Libertadores conquistada. Após a saída do Inter, o zagueiro foi para o Al-Ahli, do Catar e na volta ao Brasil, começou a atuar em times de menor expressão nacional, como o São José-RS, Brasil de Pelotas e RB Brasil, onde se teve boas atuações e acertou com o futebol pernambucano. Em seu penúltimo clube, um último destaque, sendo titular do Náutico na Série B de 2015. E neste ano, disputou a segunda divisão do Brasileirão pelo Joinville (foi dispensado após 4 meses), que acabou rebaixado para a Série C.Depois de uma rápida aventura no futebol do Catar, Fabiano Eller foi contratado pelo Fluminense, onde foi mais uma vez campeão carioca, para então ser vendido ao Trabzonspor, da Turquia. De lá, foi emprestado ao Internacional, quando em sua primeira passagem pelo clube foi campeão da Libertadores e Mundial em 2006. Com a projeção internacional, despertou o interesse do Atlético de Madrid e disputou o Campeonato Espanhol. Mas em 2008 decidiu voltar ao Brasil e acertou com o Santos, onde ficou até a metade de 2009.

São Paulo acerta a contratação de joia da Chapecoense
São Paulo espera fechar nos próximos dias a contratação do meia Shaylon, da Chapecoense. O jogador, de 19 anos, está emprestado até o dia 31 de janeiro de 2017 e é considerado uma das principais apostas das categorias de base do clube.
Para contar com o jogador por mais três anos e adquirir 50% dos direitos do armador, o Tricolor deve desembolsar R$ 500 mil. Porém, a negociação pode ser feita de outra maneira e envolver outros jogadores.
Por causa da tragédia com o avião da equipe catarinense, na Colômbia, o São Paulo pode ceder algum atleta. O técnico da Chapecoense, Vagner Mancini, mostrou interesse no meia Daniel.
"O São Paulo tem a preferência na compra até o fim do empréstimo. Tudo já foi acertado, a Chape só está aguardando o pagamento", afirmou o diretor das categoria de base da equipe catarinense, Mano Dal Piva.
No Morumbi, Shaylon se destacou como um dos destaques da base. Na conquista da Copa do Brasil Sub-20, ele fechou a disputa como artilheiro da competição, com seis gols.
O jogador também já aparece na lista de inscritos do técnico André Jardine para a Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, que será disputada em janeiro.
Após recuperação de cirurgia no joelho direito, Daniel, de 22 anos, disputou apenas 16 partidas pelo São Paulo nas duas últimas temporadas. Com contrato até o dia o fim de 2017, o mais provável é que ele seja emprestado.
